Safespace is a project that took a long time to find form.

Together with Leandro Reghini from Make X Media, we have spent over two years exploring what would truly matter. What would be essential and meaningful in the age of AI.

Until now, people have monetized their likeness through unique, physical performances — standing before a camera or a microphone. AI has transformed that act into a copying process, where your face or voice can be endlessly replicated and altered.

Without consent, this erodes both creative control and future income.

Some countries are beginning to react. Denmark, for example, has been the first to legally grant individuals ownership of their digital likeness. Safespace takes this further: not just protecting ownership, but enabling negotiation.

We want to shift from an opt-out world to an opt-in model where rights to AI-generated likenesses are clearly defined, valued, and traded transparently.

We wanted to rethink this. What if, instead of seeing people’s faces exploited by a toothless legal system, we created a tool that both protects individuals and gives them the ability to capitalize on their likeness?

That’s how Safespace was born.

SafeSpace is a tool and a platform for crafting and managing contracts. A place where digital assets, rights, and durations can be attached to the deliverables and monitored with ease.

Our first product is the Likeness License. Iinspired by the logic of Creative Commons but built around consent. It allows anyone to clearly define what can and cannot be done with their likeness.

If you’re Snoop Dogg or Gordon Ramsay and you’ve never publicly stated that your face is off limits for AI use, this license becomes your first public declaration of intent. From there, you can start negotiating the use of your digital self on your own terms.

Today, most public figures with valuable IP still don’t fully understand this risk (Nor its potential). They sign deals allowing others to generate digital assets of them without limiting quantity, context, or purpose. SafeSpace aims to change that. To turn a growing risk into a new, manageable, and capitalizable market.

We’re currently in the startup phase.

Our founding team includes Leandro Reghini, Reino Tikkanen, Mirka Parenteau, Kimmo Syväri and Jaakko Lindgren from Dottir. We aim to launch our first lovable product in early 2026.

Safespace exists to make digital rights human again.
